Biggest NFL injuries of Week 7

Here are the most significant NFL injuries in Week 7:

Monday

Jason Peters, OT, Philadelphia Eagles: Peters went down early in the third quarter after Redskins defensive lineman Ziggy Hood fell into his right leg. Peters remained on the ground clutching his knee as Eagles training staff and coach Doug Pederson came to investigate. The veteran was carted back to the locker room, with an air cast on his right leg, and the team quickly announced that he was out for the duration of the game. Halapoulivaati Vaitai replaced him in the lineup.

Jordan Hicks, LB, Philadelphia Eagles: Hicks had to be assisted off the field after injuring his right leg two plays into the game. Hicks went to the turf while in pass coverage. He leaned on trainers as he was helped to the sideline, unable to put pressure on his right leg. He was deemed questionable to return, due to an ankle injury, but was downgraded to out early in the second quarter.

The Eagles are down two of their starting linebackers, with Mychal Kendricks inactive with a pulled hamstring. The duties fall to Nigel Bradham, Najee Goode and Joe Walker.

Brandon Scherff, OG, Washington Redskins: Scherff was sustained a leg injury late in the third quarter, as he was rolled into by a defender. He was on the ground for a while as Redskins training staff attended to him, before heading to the medical tent on the sidelines for further evaluation. The team designated him as questionable to return with a knee injury.

Joshua Holsey, CB, Washington Redskins: Holsey sustained a chest injury late in the first quarter, and went back to the locker room with Redskins medical staff. He was declared questionable to return.

Sunday

Joe Thomas, LT, Cleveland Browns: One of the most impressive streaks in NFL history is over. After suffering a left arm injury during the third quarter against Tennessee, Thomas missed a play, snapping a run of 10,363 consecutive snaps. The team quickly announced that Thomas would miss the remainder of the game with a triceps injury. After the game, Thomas confirmed that he'll undergo further testing to determine when he'll return.

There is concern that Thomas tore his triceps tendon, but an MRI is needed to assess and confirm the exact injury. A tear would require surgery and a four-to-six month recovery. On Monday, the team confirmed that this is, in fact, what has happened, and that Thomas will miss the remainder of the season.

Carson Palmer, QB, Arizona Cardinals: During the second quarter, Palmer took a big hit on a play on which he threw an interception. The Cardinals' medical staff examined him on the sidelines before he headed back to the locker room, and Drew Stanton took over for Arizona on the next offensive series. Palmer was initially declared questionable to return with an arm injury but was later downgraded to out.

After the game, Cardinals coach Bruce Arians indicated that Palmer has a broken arm and is expected to miss eight weeks after surgery.

Mike Wallace, WR, Baltimore Ravens: Questionable to play in Sunday's game because of a back injury, Wallace lost control of the ball and lost his helmet after a vicious hit from Vikings safety Andrew Sendejo and remained down on the field. He was helped off the field, then went to the locker room to be examined for a concussion. Later in the first half, Wallace was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

The injury left Baltimore with three healthy (and unproven) receivers: Michael Campanaro, Chris Moore and Griff Whalen.

Jay Cutler, QB, Miami Dolphins: After taking a hard hit and landing on his left side in the third quarter, Cutler retreated to the locker room with Dolphins medical staff and was replaced by Matt Moore. The team subsequently indicated that Cutler was questionable to return because of a chest injury, but he did not return. After the game, Dolphins coach Adam Gase said that Cutler will undergo further testing to determine the extent of the injury. With the Dolphins scheduled for Thursday night in Week 8, there is concern Cutler may not be able to play.

Dan Bailey, K, Dallas Cowboys: Bailey was ruled out for the game because of a groin injury midway through the second quarter. With Bailey sidelined, Cowboys defensive back Jeff Heath subbed in for kickoff duties.

Dont'a Hightower, LB, New England Patriots: A shoulder injury sidelined Hightower late in the third quarter, and he was deemed questionable to return during the Patriots' first offensive series in the fourth quarter.

Chris Hogan, WR, New England Patriots: Hogan took a hard hit during a drive in the third quarter and came out of the game. Hogan had been ready to re-enter the game to cover the subsequent kickoff following a field goal but was pulled off, and he headed into the medical tent for evaluation. He re-entered the game for the Pats' first offensive series in the fourth quarter.

Duke Riley, LB, Atlanta Falcons: Riley left the game in the second quarter and was initially declared questionable to return due to a knee injury, but he was later downgraded to out. Kemal Ishmael is the next inside linebacker in the order, with LaRoy Reynolds not activated from injured reserve yet.

Kevin Minter, LB, Cincinnati Bengals: Minter injured his right arm during the second quarter, and Bengals medical staff examined him on the sidelines before Minter headed back to the locker room for further evaluation. He was subsequently declared out for the remainder of the game with an elbow injury.

Justin Pugh, OT, New York Giants: Pugh exited the game in the third quarter and was replaced by Bobby Hart. Subsequently, the Giants declared Pugh questionable to return because of a back injury.

C.J. Prosise, RB, Seattle Seahawks: An ankle injury sidelined Prosise during the first quarter, and he was deemed questionable to return.

Reuben Foster, LB, San Francisco 49ers: The promising rookie linebacker was knocked out of the game in the third quarter and deemed questionable to return because of a rib injury.

Delanie Walker, TE, Tennessee Titans: Walker's right foot/ankle was injured on a reception during overtime. As he hobbled to the bench, he was clearly avoiding putting any weight on the right foot, and he remained out for the duration of the game. In his postgame remarks, Titans coach Mike Mularkey indicated that Walker suffered an ankle sprain.

Malik Hooker, S, Indianapolis Colts: Hooker, who has three interceptions this season, was injured while trying to make a tackle on a 50-yard completion to Jaguars wide receiver Allen Hurns. Hooker grabbed his right knee while on the ground before getting up and limping off the field and then to the locker room. Early in the second half, the Colts indicated that Hooker was out for the duration of the game.

Sunday night, word emerged that Hooker will miss the rest of the season due to torn knee ligaments.

John Sullivan, C, Los Angeles Rams: With the Rams driving in the second half, Sullivan had to be helped off the field with what appeared to be a left knee injury. He was declared questionable to return. After the game, Rams coach Sean McVay seemed optimistic. "I think John Sullivan's going to be OK," McVay said, per ESPN's Alden Gonzalez. "We got the early results on him; seemed to be positive."

Laremy Tunsil, OT, Miami Dolphins: A third-quarter knee injury sent Tunsil to the sidelines, and he was designated as questionable to return but did not.

E.J. Gaines, CB, Buffalo Bills: Gaines was ruled out after suffering a hamstring injury in the third quarter. Gaines missed Buffalo's game in Cincinnati in Week 5 with a groin injury. He was replaced Sunday by Shareece Wright.

Roy Robertson-Harris, DL, Chicago Bears: A hamstring injury sidelined Robertson-Harris in the second quarter, and the team deemed him questionable to return.

Richie Incognito, OG, Buffalo Bills: Incognito left the field with trainers during the second quarter, limping slightly. He was replaced by rookie tackle Dion Dawkins at left guard. Ryan Groy then replaced Dawkins later in the drive before Incognito returned later in the second quarter.

Rashaan Melvin, CB, Indianapolis Colts: Melvin was removed from the game during the first half and was quickly ruled out for the duration of the contest because of a concussion.

Karlos Dansby, LB, Arizona Cardinals: Dansby injured a hand in the first half of the game against the Rams and was declared questionable to return. He returned later in the second quarter.

Ryan Kalil, C, Carolina Panthers: A neck injury sidelined the veteran Kalil during the first half against the Bears, and the Panthers declared him questionable to return. After the game, Kalil confirmed that he reaggravated a previous neck injury that had sidelined him for five weeks.

Brandon Shell, OT, New York Jets: Shell suffered a neck injury in the first quarter of Sunday's game and was deemed doubtful to return. Brent Qvale replaced him at right tackle.

Cam Robinson, OT, Jacksonville Jaguars: Left tackle Robinson suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter and was deemed questionable to return. Josh Wells took Robinson's spot in the lineup. Early in the second half, the Jags downgraded Robinson to out.

Thursday

David Amerson, CB, Oakland Raiders: Amerson suffered a foot injury during Thursday night's win against the Chiefs and was replaced by Sean Smith. Amerson also has dealt with a concussion this season.
