The Patriots officially announced the signing of free-agent OT Ulrick John. The 25-year-old John, who entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick of the Colts in 2014, has played in 10 career games (3 starts). He adds depth at a time when rosters are at 90 players. The Patriots' OT depth chart includes Marcus Cannon, LaAdrian Waddle, Cole Croston, António Garcia, Andrew Jelks and John.

The Patriots had free-agent offensive linemen Ulrick John (Packers) and Sebastian Tretola (Titans) in for workouts on Monday. With rosters at 90 players, the team has room to explore more depth at different spots. John has appeared in 10 career games (3 starts) and Tretola has appeared in one. John entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick of the Colts in 2014 out of Georgia State, while Tretola was a sixth-round pick of the Titans in 2016 out of Arkansas.

Former Patriots broadcaster Santos dies at 80

Gil Santos, who spent 36 seasons as the radio voice of the New England Patriots died Thursday, his 80th birthday. Santos retired after the 2012 season and was inducted into the team's Hall of Fame in 2013.
