Pro Bowl DT Aaron Donald has informed the Rams that he will not be attending the team's OTAs that start Monday, a team official tells ESPN's Adam Schefter.

OT Joe Noteboom, a third-round pick who became the Rams' first selection, played a lot of hockey growing up and said it "definitely helped footwork." He also ran one of the fastest 40's of his position group. "I've always been more of an athletic person. I've just been able to run fast and be agile. Maybe hockey had something to do with it, but I don't know."

Obo Okoronkwo (Oklahoma) was selected in the fifth round by the Rams with the hope that he could eventually replace Robert Quinn. The guy he modeled himself after? Robert Quinn. "When I first started playing, one of my coaches in high school said that eventually this is what you can do. I started playing nose guard and 3-technique originally, but he told me, ‘When you finally get it, when the light comes on, this is the type of player you're going to be.' That's what he showed me. So I never forgot about Robert Quinn."

Sean McVay made it sound like the Rams' linebacker spots are wide open, at least outside of Mark Barron. Cory Littleton, Ramik Wilson and Bryce Hager will have a leg up inside. For OLB, McVay mentioned Matt Longacre, Samson Ebukam and Morgan Fox, who will become more of a standup pass rusher.

"I wouldn't have a problem if we got something done right now." Rams coach Sean McVay was asked about Aaron Donald, who remains absent from the offseason program. His answer sounded familiar. ...

John Kelly showed last year at Tennessee that he can be an effective pass-catcher out of the backfield, but that won't mean Todd Gurley is on the field less for the Rams. "I think what Todd did is he showed why he's a complete back," Sean McVay said, "and to take him off the field, he better be pretty tired. You have to be smart about that, but there's a reason why he was able to have that success."

The Rams waived FB Sam Rogers and RB Lenard Tillery. They signed DT Dalton Keene and S Charles Williams.

Nashville is reportedly the leader to host the 2019 NFL draft, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, and you have to think that at some point in the next five years, LA will host it, too. It would come after the Rams and Chargers move into their new stadium, but Rams COO Kevin Demoff previously suggested wanting to host it at other iconic LA locations. (The beach?)

The Rams are on track to get two third-round compensatory picks in next year's draft, according to OverTheCap. That's a significant haul for a Rams team that has had the NFL's lowest draft capital these last two years. Basically, comp picks are given to teams who lose more to free agency than they acquire. The Rams made big moves this offseason, but Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters and Brandin Cooks don't count towards it because they were acquired via trade. Neither does Ndamukong Suh, who became a free agent after being cut. Two players who do count: Sammy Watkins and Trumaine Johnson, who signed with other teams.

It's official: The Rams and Ravens will take part in a joint practice from Baltimore on the Monday and Tuesday that leads into their Thursday, Aug. 9 preseason game. From Sean McVay: "Opportunities like this are always beneficial."
