The Bengals have 12 people on their injury report. The Vikings have 14. Clearly both teams are starting to feel the effects of the season.

Pete Brown, the Bengals senior vice president and co-founder of the team along with his brother Mike and father Paul Brown passed away yesterday at age 74. "Pete was the quiet one but his talent spoke volumes, said Mike Brown in a statement. "Pete was more prone to action than talk, and his contributions to the Bengals were significant. He was a fine scout and judge of prospects, a wonderful business partner and an even better brother and family member. Everyone who knew Pete cared about him and respected him. I feel his loss deeply.

Bengals DC Paul Guenther on the possibility of getting WR John Ross snaps at CB: "I know there was a report out there. At the beginning of the week we only had a certain amount of DBs we were going to have available so we tried to scour the roster and see if guys who may have played DB in college. John was one of them. We had a couple other guys we talked about taking reps at safety just in case in an emergency situation you have to have your bases covered... He joked: "I had a nice corner blitz up for him."

Marvin Lewis on the effort today: I think the effort, you know, I don't say there's anything wrong with the effort. Our ability to complete the task, we didn't get it done."

Bengals QB Andy Dalton: "We didn't have a lot of energy and offensively we didn't get that one play that give us a spark."

Trubisky, Howard lead Bears over hapless Bengals 33-7

Rookie Mitchell Trubisky threw for a touchdown and ran for another in his best showing yet, and the Chicago Bears ended a five-game losing streak by routing the lackluster Cincinnati Bengals 33-7 on Sunday, their most lopsided victory in five years.

Someone brought up the word "embarrassing" to AJ Green. He nodded immediately. "Definitely embarrassing."

I asked Marvin Lewis if the team was prepared to play today and he said he thought they were. He said the practice week was good.

Bengals lose to the Bears at home 33-7. There's plenty of blame to go around in a completely lackluster performance by Cincinnati, who now has to go on the road to face the Vikings. Bengals were never truly in this game and it showed.

Inside zone scheme on the Jordan Howard TD. Ran through some contact, too. That gives Howard 147 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 23 carries.

Bengals trail 12-7 at halftime to the Bears but it feels like it should be more. They're clearly suffering from a post-Steelers hangover. With LBs Nick Vigil and Vontaze Burfict out, the Bengals have not played well against the run, allowing Jordan Howard to rush for 63 yards. The Bengals offense looks bad as well with the only bright spot being RB Giovani Bernard. The Bengals look like they're sleepwalking through a game against a 3-9 opponent.

Seth Walder ESPN Analytics

Though the Bengals were at their own 29-yard line at the time, Marvin Lewis' decision to punt on fourth-and-1 in the first quarter reduced Cincinnati's chance to win by 2.2%, according to our win probability model.

Bengals DT Geno Atkins and CB Darqueze Dennard are active, which is good news as they were questionable. Other than the injured players, the only healthy scratches are Christian Westerman and Josh Tupou.
