Bengals have given up a lot of big plays on defense today due to penalties and poor tackling. But despite that, the last two defensive drives felt like wins after they held the Steelers to field goals. Bengals are going to have to play a lot more sound on defense going forward. It's surprising to see for this unit, which has been the bright spot of this season.

Bengals have come alive on offense today, and surprisingly got a little aggressive. They showed no hesitation on going for it on fourth-and-goal, and it paid off. Andy Dalton found the open TE Tyler Kroft for an easy TD to tie up the game. With Tyler Eifert out for the season, the Bengals have looked to Kroft to step up, and he's now scored three touchdowns this season. That probably eases the pain of losing Eifert a little bit.

Andy Dalton sometimes has a tendency to force passes to A.J. Green, but he made a really nice decision and a nice throw to hit Brandon LaFell for a touchdown instead. The Steelers were keying in on A.J. Green in the end zone and he just wasn't open there. Dalton looked sharp on the Bengals' game-tying drive, which was highlighted by a 16-yard pass to Green a few plays prior. Joe Mixon got things started off with a 25-yard run. The Bengals started Jeremy Hill this game, but Mixon could end up being the key here. They should incorporate him more.

John Ross and Adam Jones are inactive for the Bengals, as well as Tyler Boyd, Ryan Hewitt, Christian Westerman, Derron Smith and Alex Redmond. That means WR Josh Malone will be active for the first time this season. The Bengals will use William Jackson and Darqueze Dennard in place of Jones.

FPI: Steelers favored heavily over Bengals

Cincy returns from its bye on a two-game win streak, but ESPN's FPI gives Pittsburgh better than a 3-1 edge at home. Ben Roethlisberger could become the fourth QB ever with at least 20 wins against multiple teams (21 vs. Browns, 19 vs. Bengals).

Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert's season might be over, but he says he will be allowed to resume normal play once he has recovered from his third back surgery.

Tyler Boyd and Ryan Hewitt have been ruled out for the Bengals. John Ross and Derron Smith are questionable to play.

Bengals CB Adam Jones is doubtful to play Sunday with a back injury. Jones injured his back two weeks ago against the Bills and has only practiced once this week. If Jones doesn't play, expect to see a lot of William Jackson III.

Tyler Eifert said there's no long term concerns about his back surgeries and playing football. The doctor said it was OK to resume playing when he's fully recovered.

Tyler Eifert was in the locker room today. He said he feels "really good," after his back surgery, and will stay around Cincinnati for his rehab. Got a fist bump from Andy Dalton as Dalton passed by this morning.
