Louis Riddick breaks down how the Eagles will adjust after losing Darren Sproles for the season with a torn ACL and a broken arm. (1:26)

Here are the most significant NFL players who got banged up in Week 3:

Sunday

Darren Sproles, RB, Philadelphia Eagles: Sproles suffered what appeared to be a leg injury after being hit by Giants safety Darian Thompson in the second quarter. He walked off the field under his own power, then went to the locker room for further evaluation. He was originally declared questionable to return, before later being ruled out. On Monday, ESPN's Tim McManus reported that Sproles has a broken arm and a torn ACL -- both of which occurred on one play. LeGarrette Blount and Wendell Smallwood received the bulk of the carries in his absence Sunday.

Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Carolina Panthers: Benjamin left the game during the first quarter as his left leg was bent back awkwardly. He walked off the field under his own power and was examined on the sideline before heading back to the locker room. He was ruled out for the rest of the game. Benjamin came into the game leading Carolina in receiving yards with 102 on seven catches. He had two catches for 8 yards against New Orleans before the injury. On Monday, Panthers coach Ron Rivera said the MRI on Benjamin's left knee showed no structural damage, but whether the wide receiver can play this week depends on how he responds to treatment.

Lavonte David, LB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: David's leg buckled awkwardly while he was defending a fourth-quarter running play, and he was carted off the field. X-rays on his ankle were negative, but the team believed David suffered a high ankle sprain, per ESPN's Jenna Laine. On Monday, Laine reported that it was not a high ankle sprain, but rather a medial sprain, and that the recovery timetable was "week to week," as opposed to the lengthier absence that a high ankle sprain typically entails.

Michael Crabtree, WR, Oakland Raiders: On a frustrating night for the Oakland offense, Crabtree was sidelined with a chest injury, and he went to the locker room for X-rays. He did not return.

Samaje Perine, RB, Washington Redskins: Perine suffered a hand/wrist injury in the fourth quarter, as it appeared he took a direct hit from a defender's helmet. The club announced Perine was questionable to return. Perine returned to the sideline with his hand wrapped, but did not return to the game. On Monday, ESPN's John Keim reported that Perine has a bruised hand, and is considered day to day.

Melvin Gordon, RB, Los Angeles Chargers: A knee injury kept Gordon out of action to start the second half, and the team indicated his return was questionable; he did not return thereafter. Gordon had 78 yards rushing on 15 carries, including an 11-yard touchdown.

Doug Baldwin, WR, Seattle Seahawks: A groin injury sidelined Baldwin in the fourth quarter, and he did not return. Baldwin was busy on Sunday, with 10 catches on 15 targets, for 105 yards and a touchdown. After the game, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll indicated that the severity of the injury was unknown.

Bryan Bulaga, OT, Green Bay Packers: Bulaga left the game in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury. The team deemed his return to be questionable, but he did not make it back into the game.

Dee Ford, LB, Kansas City Chiefs: Ford was knocked out of the game in the fourth quarter with a hip injury.

George Iloka, S, Cincinnati Bengals: Iloka left the game in the fourth quarter with a hamstring injury.

Gerald McCoy, DT, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: McCoy aggravated an ankle injury that he's been dealing with since last week. He was spotted in a walking boot after the game.

Fletcher Cox, DT, Philadelphia Eagles: Cox suffered a calf injury in the first half and was declared questionable to return before later being ruled out.

Noah Spence, DE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Spence re-dislocated his shoulder and will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the injury, per ESPN's Jenna Laine.

Olivier Vernon, DE, New York Giants: Vernon went down with an ankle injury in the fourth quarter and did not return.

Orleans Darkwa, RB, New York Giants: Darkwa was knocked out of the game with a back injury in the fourth quarter.

Matt Forte, RB, New York Jets: Forte left the game in the second half and was designated as questionable to return. However, he did not return and will undergo an X-ray on his toe.

Anthony Zettel, DT, Detroit Lions: Zettel injured his right knee in the third quarter and remained on the ground grabbing at his leg before being helped off the field by Lions trainers. He returned later in the third quarter, but had his knee wrapped after the game.

Jesse James, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers: After taking a hard hit on his left shoulder, James left the game for a series, then returned but took himself back out after one play. He was examined in the sideline medical tent before leaving for the locker room with his shoulder pads off, and was declared questionable to return. He made his return in the third quarter.

Ramon Foster, G, Pittsburgh Steelers: Foster headed to the locker room for further evaluation of a left hand injury after a strip sack of Ben Roethlisberger in the first quarter.

Hroniss Grasu, C, Chicago Bears: Grasu left the game in the first half to undergo examination for a wrist injury.

Jay Ajayi, RB, Miami Dolphins: Ajayi left the game early in the first quarter favoring his left arm or wrist, per ESPN's James Walker. He returned for the start of the Dolphins' second drive.

Tony Jefferson, S, Baltimore Ravens: Jefferson was injured while tackling Jaguars TE James O'Shaughnessy late in the second quarter. He walked off the field under his own power and returned in the second half.

Jeremy Maclin, WR, Baltimore Ravens: Maclin underwent concussion protocol after falling and hitting his head during an intercepted play in the second quarter against Jacksonville. He was cleared to return at the start of the second half.

Brent Urban, DE, Baltimore Ravens: Urban (foot sprain) was injured early in the second quarter against the Jaguars. The Ravens were already down one starting lineman, with Brandon Williams not making the trip to London because of a foot injury.

Thursday

Sammy Watkins, WR, Los Angeles Rams: Watkins was having his best game as a Ram -- six catches on seven targets, for 106 yards and two touchdowns -- before sustaining a concussion in the fourth quarter of Los Angeles' win over San Francisco. He's currently in the concussion protocol.

Tavon Austin, WR, Los Angeles Rams: Like his teammate Watkins, Austin left the Rams' win over the 49ers after sustaining a concussion. Austin had managed 14 yards on three rushes but was not targeted in the passing game during the contest.

Tank Carradine, LB, San Francisco 49ers: Carradine left during the second half of Thursday's loss with an ankle injury. On Friday, coach Kyle Shanahan reported that Carradine has a high ankle sprain, and a decision will be made soon as to whether he'll be placed on injured reserve, per ESPN's Nick Wagoner.

Kyle Juszczyk, FB, San Francisco 49ers: Juszczyk also sustained a concussion in Thursday's game after hauling in one reception for 34 yards in the loss to Los Angeles.
