I'm told that the preliminary diagnosis for cornerback M.J. Stewart is a bone bruise on his heel. So he should be fine.

The Bucs' red-zone efficiency has jumped from 33.3 percent in the first two preseason games last year to 55.5 percent this year. Through two preseason games, they've also managed to outscore their four-game output from last year, 56 to 43. Nice feather in the cap of offensive coordinator Todd Monken. Dirk Koetter has always called plays but is having Monken do so this preseason. The plan is for Koetter to call plays during the season though.

Bucs player of the game for me: rookie cornerback MJ Stewart, who had two forced fumbles. He left the game with a foot injury and did not return, but his impact was certainly felt — his second turnover gave the Bucs a chance to run their two-minute offense before the half, which Jameis Winston did successfully with a 10-play, 72-yard drive.

No touchdowns for the Bucs' offense with Ryan Fitzpatrick in the first quarter against the Titans, but Jameis Winston did just about everything you could ask for in the second, throwing for 226 yards and connecting with Chris Godwin and Justin Watson for touchdowns. His throw to Godwin, where he escaped pressure and threw completely off-balance, was one of those plays only Winston could make. He also found DeSean Jackson on a 54-yard pass downfield -- something that was missing last year and both vowed to correct heading into 2018. We've seen that a few times during camp. This is shaping up to be a very strong camp for No. 3, even as he's had to give up a lot of first-team reps.

Several Bucs players not dressing against the Titans: Josh Robinson, Vernon Hargreaves, Carlton Davis, Vita Vea, Kendell Beckwith, Shaheed Salmon, Devante Bond, Leonard Wester, Cole Boozer, Cole Gardner, Bobo Wilson and Mitch Unrein.

Source tells me that Bucs defensive tackle Stevie Tu'ikolovatu suffered a torn tricep and will require surgery, hence why he was waived/injured. If he clears waivers, the team has the option of placing him on injured reserve or reaching an injury settlement. A settlement is the likely scenario here.

The Bucs have waived (injured) defensive tackle Stevie Tu'ikolovatu and signed defensive tackle Drew Iddings. Tu'ikolovatu had been placed on IR last year with a knee injury before the season even began, so they really haven't gotten to see what he can do. Vita Vea is also still recovering from a calf injury, so that position has definitely taken a hit.

Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter called Jason Pierre-Paul a "pleasant surprise" today, after the first of two joint practices against the Titans. "I guess wasn't expecting JPP to be the practice player and the leader that he's been so far. I'm really fired up about it. Sometimes a guy that's got his pedigree comes in and is looking for ways out of drills, and that's not him at all."

I'm eager for some of the Bucs' young corners -- Carlton Davis, M.J. Stewart, Ryan Smith --- to go up against a now-healthy Corey Davis, who has had a really solid camp. Also, one-on-ones OL vs. DL are always a blast in joint practices. Give me Taylor Lewan vs Noah Spence.

Things to watch for with the Bucs-Titans joint practices: Jameis Winston/Ryan Fitzpatrick vs. a Titans secondary that may be one of the most underrated in the NFL. Kevin Byard's an INT machine and Adoree Jackson has had an excellent camp. Also, they'll be seeing a mix of 3-4/4-3 up front. Good test prepping for the Steelers in Week 3.

When asked his thoughts on Jameis Winston's suspension, Tony Dungy said, "He's a great leader on the field, he's a great leader in the locker room, he's a great leader when he's here, and now he's gotta take it on his shoulders to lead off the field and away from the building as well. I'm praying he'll do that."

Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy spoke to Bucs players before practice today. He told them it wasn't about the talent in the room — although that's certainly important — it's about togetherness. He said talent-wise, his Colts Super Bowl team was only fourth or fifth. "It wasn't the most talented, but it was the most together."

Lorenzo Holloway, a participant of the USAA Salute to Service Boot Camp, tries to go one-one-one with Mike Evans on a deep pass from Jameis Winston. Holloway, who got a running start, said, "I swear I tripped." Jameis told him after, "Don't worry, Mike does that to everybody."

Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans visits with participants of the USAA Salute to Service Boot Camp Tuesday. This is the second year the Bucs have hosted the event. Approximately 50 participants are here for a combine-style workout.

Head coach Dirk Koetter said that Carlton Davis' ankle injury is nothing serious. He wasn't the only player held out of Tuesday's practice, but given that the Bucs are already without Vernon Hargreaves, it's something to monitor.

Bucs rookie cornerback Carlton Davis has his left ankle wrapped and isn't practicing today. He appears to be walking fine but we'll have more details from head coach Dirk Koetter on the severity of it.
