Here are the most significant NFL injuries in Week 14:
Carson Wentz, QB, Philadelphia Eagles: Wentz exited the game against the Rams late in the third quarter with an undisclosed injury and was quickly declared out with a knee injury. He came up limping after absorbing multiple hits on a touchdown run that was negated by a holding penalty. Wentz stayed in the game for the remainder of the drive, which he capped with a fourth-down touchdown throw to Alshon Jeffery that gave the Eagles the lead.
After the series, Wentz went to the trainers' tent to be evaluated and then was taken to the locker room a short time later. Nick Foles immediately began practicing snaps with center Jason Kelce on the sideline in anticipation of going in.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday night that the Eagles feared Wentz had tore his ACL, and those fears were confirmed on Monday. He will miss the remainder of the season.
Bobby Wagner, LB, Seattle Seahawks: Wagner exited the game during the third quarter because of a hamstring injury and was declared questionable to return. The Jaguars subsequently scored two touchdowns with Wagner sidelined.
Josh McCown, QB, New York Jets: After an apparent back injury knocked McCown out briefly earlier in the game, the QB suffered a left hand or wrist injury during the third quarter and was taken back to the locker room for further evaluation. He was declared questionable to return and replaced in the lineup by Bryce Petty. He was later downgraded to out with a broken left hand.
On Monday, the Jets announced that McCown's season is over due to the injury. This opens the door for Petty and Christian Hackenberg to show what they can do.
Kayvon Webster, CB, Los Angeles Rams: Webster was carted off the field during the first quarter with what looked like a right ankle injury after grabbing at the ankle while down on the field. Webster missed time early in the season because of a shoulder injury and was knocked out of the Week 11 game against Minnesota with a concussion. The team declared him doubtful to return because of the injury, before downgrading him to out.
After the game, Rams coach Sean McVay confirmed an Achilles tendon rupture for Webster.
Andrew Whitworth, OT, Los Angeles Rams: The veteran Whitworth appeared to injure himself on a Cooper Kupp touchdown play, as he limped off the field with some help from Rams medical staff. He later retreated to the locker room for further testing on an ankle injury, and the team declared him questionable to return because of the injury. Whitworth made his return to the lineup in the third quarter.
Robert Havenstein, OT, Los Angeles Rams: Havenstein, the team's starting right tackle, injured his ankle at the nine-minute mark of the fourth quarter and McVay did not have an update on his condition after the game. Shortly after Havenstein exited, Darrell Williams allowed Eagles DE Chris Long to get around the edge and record a critical strip sack of Jared Goff.
Russell Okung, OT, Los Angeles Chargers: Okung injured himself during the first quarter, although he was able to walk off the field under his own power. The Chargers declared him questionable to return because of an ankle injury, and he was replaced in the lineup by Sam Tevi. Okung made his return later in the first half.
Byron Marshall, RB, Washington Redskins: Marshall appeared to injure his leg in the course of fielding a kickoff during the first quarter. Although initially declared questionable to return because of a hamstring injury, he was subsequently downgraded to doubtful, then to out.
Taylor Lewan, OT, Tennessee Titans: Star left tackle Lewan left the field and was escorted back to the locker room during the second quarter. He was declared questionable to return because of a back injury. He was replaced in the lineup by Dennis Kelly. He was later downgraded to out. Lewan is slated to undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the injury.
Elijah McGuire, RB, New York Jets: An ankle injury sidelined McGuire in the first half of the Jets' game against the Broncos, and he was declared questionable to return.
Tom Savage, QB, Houston Texans: Savage appeared woozy after a second quarter hit and was checked out on the sideline and in the medical tent by Texans medical personnel. He returned briefly to the game before being removed prior to the next series in favor of T.J. Yates. Savage subsequently went to the locker room for further evaluation of a concussion and was declared out for the duration of the game. After the game, the team confirmed that Savage is in the concussion protocol.
On Monday, Texans coach Bill O'Brien commented that had he seen the video of Savage in peril on the ground, he would not have let him back in the game at all.
Nathan Peterman, QB, Buffalo Bills: At the tail end of a scramble in the third quarter, Peterman took a hard hit from Colts LB Antonio Morrison and had to be helped off the field by Bills medical staff. He was replaced by Joe Webb.
After being checked out in the sideline medical tent, Peterman was escorted to the locker room for further evaluation of a head injury and did not return. After the game, the club confirmed that Peterman is in the concussion protocol.
Thomas Hennessy, LS, New York Jets: Hennessy had to be helped off the field during the first quarter after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit and was brought back to the locker room for further evaluation of a head injury. He did not return, and Eric Tomlinson took over long-snapping duties.
Amari Cooper, WR, Oakland Raiders: Cooper appeared to injure his ankle or leg in the first half and was declared questionable to return by the team during the third quarter. Cooper had not played since Nov. 26 because of a concussion and ankle injury.
Landon Collins, S, New York Giants: Collins appeared to injure his lower leg or ankle during a touchdown drive by the Cowboys in the second half. The Giants quickly declared him questionable to return because of an ankle injury, but he did not return.
Collins was spotted in a walking boot after the game.
Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Buffalo Bills: Benjamin was assisted to the Bills' medical tent with help from medical staff in the fourth quarter after coming down hard on his knee diving for an incomplete pass. He was declared questionable to return because of a knee injury. Benjamin has been in and out of the lineup throughout the season because of various injuries.
On Monday, Bills coach Sean McDermott commented that it is "too early to tell" on Benjamin's Week 15 status.
Davon House, CB, Green Bay Packers: House was carted off the field in the fourth quarter. He came into the game with a shoulder injury and was a surprise active despite being declared doubtful on the injury report. He was quickly declared out for the duration of the game because of a back injury.
On Monday, the team confirmed that House will not need surgery for his transverse process fracture, and that he could return this season.
Riley Reiff, OT, Minnesota Vikings: Reiff was injured during the second half against the Panthers and had to be helped off the field. He was declared questionable to return because of an ankle injury. Reiff was spotted in a walking boot after the game.
Gerald McCoy, DT, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: McCoy left the field in obvious pain during the second quarter and was declared doubtful to return because of a shoulder/biceps injury. The team downgraded McCoy to out in the third quarter.
An MRI will determine the extent of the injury. McCoy's season ended prematurely in 2010 because of a torn left biceps. It happened again in 2011 when he tore his left biceps, undergoing surgery on both arms.
Mario Edwards Jr., DE, Oakland Raiders: Edwards was shaken up during the first quarter against the Chiefs and went back to the locker room with Oakland medical personnel for further evaluation. He was declared questionable to return because of an ankle injury.
Thursday
Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints: New Orleans lost half of its dynamic 1-2 punch in the backfield when Kamara took a shot to the helmet and staggered off with a concussion during the first offensive possession against the Falcons. He missed the remainder of the game and is in the concussion protocol, so his Week 15 status remains up in the air. Mark Ingram took over a greater share of the backfield duties with his teammate out of action.
Kenny Vaccaro, S, New Orleans Saints: Vaccaro exited Thursday's game against the Falcons and did not return because of a groin injury. His availability for Week 15 remains in question.
Senio Kelemete, OG, New Orleans Saints: A concussion sidelined Kelemete during Thursday's game, and he did not return. As he is in the concussion protocol, his status for Week 15 is unclear.
