New York Giants C Jon Halapio, CB Eli Apple injured vs. Dallas Cowboys

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants starting center Jon Halapio and cornerback Eli Apple left Sunday night's game against the Dallas Cowboys with injuries.

Halapio was carted off the field after someone rolled into the back of his leg near the end of a play in the third quarter. The medical staff put his right leg in an air cast. The injury appeared to be serious.

Apple also left the contest in the third quarter. He had a groin injury. The first-round pick had finally seemed to turn the corner in the first two weeks of the season.

Apple was replaced by veteran B.W. Webb. Veteran John Greco took the place of Halapio. The Giants traded backup center Brett Jones this summer, and he's now starting for the Minnesota Vikings.

Halapio won the Giants' starting center job this summer. He made a strong impression after playing well at guard late last year.
