Patriots' Tom Brady at warm-ups Thursday with gloves on both hands

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was present at the start of Thursday's practice wearing red gloves on both hands -- which is not the norm for him -- one day after he was involved in a minor collision in practice that injured his right throwing hand.

While Brady was present for warm-ups, the Patriots noted on their injury report that he did not take part in the rest of practice Thursday.

Reporters watched the start of the practice, which included stretching and light running. Quarterbacks did not throw during the time reporters were at practice.

Brady was listed as limited on Wednesday, and he went for medical tests after the practice. As a result, he canceled his scheduled news conference, which was to air live on the NFL Network.

Brady was scheduled to address reporters Thursday afternoon but instead will hold a news conference on Friday.

In the days before the Patriots' regular-season finale, which was the coldest regular-season home game in franchise history, Brady had discussed the idea of wearing gloves.

"Early in my career I tried using a glove on my throwing hand a little bit. It didn't go too well. I think it's better without," he said on Dec. 29.
