The Boston Red Sox placed outfielder Andrew Benintendi on the bereavement list.
Bereavement leave is a minimum of three games and a maximum of seven games, so Benintendi won't be back until after the All-Star break.
Benintendi is battting .297 with 14 home runs and 57 RBIs. He also has 17 stolen bases, 104 hits and 68 runs scored.
To fill Benintendi's spot on the 25-man roster, the club recalled 1B/OF Sam Travis from Triple-A Pawtucket.
