Dodgers manager Dave Roberts believes his team is playing its best baseball right now. "It's not really going out on a limb," he said. "We've been sort of inconsistent all year, but things are coming together at the right time."

Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen: "The thing I like about this year is that nothing is easy for us. We're going to really have to earn it to get there. I like our chances if we get to the playoffs because everything we got, we've had to earn."

Watch Anthony Rizzo discuss his 17 pitch first inning at-bat right before Javier Baez homered in the Cubs 9-1 win over Az.

Chris Taylor pointed his right index finger to the sky as he sprinted to first base and Dodger Stadium began to shake. A walk-off home run. The Dodgers win, 3-2, in 10, and are 1 1/2 up on the Rockies in the NL West.

The Dodgers won't have one clear setup man for Kenley Jansen, but they would love to at least narrow down the group. Looks like it's Kenta Maeda, Scott Alexander and Dylan Floro, in no particular order.

Clayton Kershaw issued five walks, one shy of his season high, but allowed only one earned run through seven innings. He has labored more than ever this year, but he keeps finding a way. His ERA is 2.31 in 16 starts since coming off the DL.

Dodgers 3B Justin Turner atoned for his error in a big way, diving left to snare a hard grounder off the bat of DJ LeMahieu, saving a run and ending the seventh inning. Still tied at 2.

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

Yeah, yeah, yeah -- pitcher wins don't matter. Still, 20 wins is awesome and Blake Snell got there with five scoreless, one-hit innings for the Rays (and tying David Price for the franchise record). He's 20-5 with a 1.97 ERA and if Chris Sale doesn't qualify for the ERA title (he's at 150 innings with a 1.92 ERA), Snell could become the first AL starter with a sub-2.00 ERA since Pedro Martinez in 2000.

A rare double error by the Dodgers. DJ LeMahieu's two-out grounder snuck under the glove of 3B Justin Turner and LF Chris Taylor, and this game is tied at 1 in the third.

The Yankees beat the Red Sox 3-2 and everyone will poke at the Boston bullpen that surrendered three runs in the seventh, but the Red Sox offense has struggled in September, even though the team has gone 10-5. They're hitting .242/.319/.368 with 11 home runs while averaging 4.20 runs per game (compared to 5.43 through September). Probably nothing, but something to watch.
