With the country continuing to battle the coronavirus pandemic, the state of the college football season remains uncertain, and a standard fall schedule seems unlikely as the season approaches. Each conference has put together a plan for the upcoming season, but as the news changes, so will the college football landscape.

American Athletic Conference
American Athletic Conference approves 8+4 schedule for 2020: The American Athletic Conference approved an eight-game conference schedule with the ability to play up to four nonconference games.
AAC will require testing before games: The AAC announced that it will require coronavirus testing for teams at least 72 hours before football games. The protocol will be in place throughout the regular season and bowl season.
Games canceled: Entire UConn schedule; Cincinnati at Nebraska; Norfolk State at East Carolina; Houston at Washington State; Memphis at Purdue; Bethune-Cookman at South Florida; Rutgers at Temple; Tulane at Northwestern; Florida A&M at UCF.
Games postponed: Notre Dame at Navy (in Ireland); Lafayette at Navy.
ACC
ACC releases full schedule for 2020 football season: The ACC released its full football schedule on Thursday, with Notre Dame hosting Duke in Week 1 on Sept. 12 in a unique setup that will feature the Irish playing a league slate for the first time.
Games canceled: Purdue at Boston College; Holy Cross at Boston College; South Carolina at Clemson; Florida at Florida State; Georgia Tech at Georgia; Kentucky at Louisville; Wagner at Miami, Miami at Michigan State; Auburn at North Carolina; Mississippi State North Carolina State, Syracuse at Rutgers, Colgate at Syracuse; Georgia at Virginia, Penn State at Virginia Tech.
Games postponed: Elon at Duke; at North Carolina State; James Madison at North Carolina; Richmond at Pittsburgh; Villanova at Wake Forest.
Big 12
Big 12 intent on playing, revises schedule: The Big 12 on Aug. 12 said it will continue moving forward with the intent of playing football in the fall. The league also released a revised football schedule. Teams will still play their "9-plus-1" schedules, with nine conference games and one nonconference game, but the start of the conference season will be delayed until Sept. 26. The schedule includes two off weeks for every team, to allow for flexibility in the instance that games must be postponed. The Big 12 championship game also has a flexible date, scheduled for Dec. 12 or Dec. 19.
Chick-fil-A Kickoff Games up in the air: The status of the three Chick-fil-A Kickoff Games, one of which features West Virginia, remains uncertain as the ACC, Big 12 and SEC continue to weigh the options pertaining to the upcoming season.
Games canceled: Iowa State at Iowa; Oregon State at Oklahoma State; TCU at California; Texas Tech at Arizona; Maryland at West Virginia.
Games postponed: New Hampshire at Kansas; Prairie View A&M at TCU; Alcorn State at Texas Tech.
Big Ten
Big Ten nixes fall season, eyes spring: Big Ten Conference presidents and chancellors voted Tuesday to postpone all fall sports seasons, including football, amid the coronavirus pandemic with the hopes of playing in the spring.

UConn first FBS team to cancel football season: UConn, which last month officially left the American Athletic Conference, announced Wednesday that it's suspending its football program for the 2020 season because of the coronavirus pandemic.

MAC
MAC becomes first FBS conference to postpone football season: The MAC postponed all fall sports, including football on Saturday, Aug. 8. With the decision, the conference became the first FBS conference to opt out of playing this fall.

Mountain West
MWC postpones fall sports: The Mountain West is postponing its fall sports season because of concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, the conference announced on Monday. The Mountain West is the second FBS conference to postpone football and other fall sports, joining the Mid-American Conference.

Pac-12
Pac-12 postpones fall sports: The Pac-12 CEO group voted unanimously Tuesday to postpone fall sports through the end of the year and will look at options to play in the spring, the conference announced. "The health, safety and well-being of our student-athletes and all those connected to Pac-12 sports has been our number one priority since the start of this current crisis," said Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott in a statement. The Pac-12's decision to cancel the fall schedule Tuesday follows the same decision from the Big Ten, which announced that it would cancel fall sports about an hour into the Pac-12's CEO group meeting.

SEC
SEC announces 10-game conference only schedule: On July 20, the SEC presidents and chancellors announced the plan to play a 10-game, conference-only schedule that will begin on Sept. 26. The decision means SEC schools will play two more conference games than the normal eight-game conference schedule.

Sun Belt
Sun Belt announces schedule model: The Sun Belt approved a football schedule that features eight conference games and up to four nonleague games. The season will begin during the first week of September. It will maintain normal divisions and is scheduling its championship game for Dec. 5, but it can be moved to another date.

Football Championship Subdivision
Big Sky
No fall sports for Big Sky: The Big Sky's postponement of fall football on Aug. 6 made it one of the first leagues in the nation to scuttle football because of the coronavirus that has claimed more than 160,000 lives in the United States and about 750,000 worldwide. On Aug. 13, the conference postponed the rest of its fall sports as well.

Big South
Big South postpones fall sports: The Big South Conference became the latest FCS football league to postpone its fall sports seasons on Aug. 12 with the intent of playing in the spring, leaving three of the 13 FCS conferences with plans to play football and other sports this fall. The Ohio Valley Conference, Southern Conference and Southland Conference are the remaining FCS leagues that haven't postponed or canceled their seasons.

Colonial Athletic Association
Colonial Athletic Association cancels season: The CAA announced that it is canceling the 2020 football season. Teams in the conference will be allowed to pursue independent schedules.
Games canceled/postponed: All games scheduled have been canceled.
FCS Independents
Robert Morris reschedules: Hawaii filled a gap in its schedule due to the ongoing coronavirus with a Sept. 26 game with Robert Morris. Robert Morris is an FCS Independent for the 2020 season as it prepares to join the Big South in 2021.
Games canceled: Holy Cross at Merrimack.
Games postponed: Merrimack at New Hampshire; Merrimack at James Madison.
Great West
Game canceled/postponed: TBD
Ivy League
Ivy League sets the trend: The Ivy League announced on July 8 that all fall sports, including football, will not compete in 2020. The decision by the conference at the start of the month was the first major decision about fall sports by any conference in the country, with regard to the coronavirus pandemic.
Games canceled/postponed: All games scheduled have been canceled.
MEAC
MEAC suspends all fall sports: The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference suspended all fall sports for an indefinite period on July 16. The conference has not ruled out playing football in the spring.

Southern Conference

Southland Conference
Southland opts for spring slate: The Southland Conference has postponed football until the spring but will allow its members to play nonconference games this fall if they wish. The FCS playoffs will not be played this fall after coming up short of the 50% requirement of teams to participate.

SWAC
SWAC plans for spring football: The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced on July 20 it was postponing the 2020 football season.
Games canceled: All games are postponed for 2020. The conference is aiming for a season in the spring.
