Les Miles left $5M on the table with LSU, instead reaching a $1.5M buyout agreement. In addition, sources told ESPN that Miles has met with Kansas about their opening for 2019.


Barnes, Delton lift K-State to sloppy 21-17 win over Kansas

Alex Barnes ran for 117 yards and two touchdowns, Alex Delton scored the go-ahead TD from 21 yards out in the closing minutes and Kansas State held on to beat Kansas 21-17 on Saturday for the Wildcats' 10th straight win over their biggest rival.

David Beaty says there was no doubt he would finish the season at Kansas after being informed he would not be retained in 2019. "I'm grateful to [athletic director Jeff Long] that it wasn't even a conversation. He believes and knows that's what our team would want. It's served as less of a distraction than these situations typically would be. … They know it's never been about me. It's always been about them and the great University of Kansas."

Kansas has fired fourth-year coach David Beaty. He will finish out the season for the Jayhawks, who are 3-6 and visit rival Kansas State this week. First-year athletic director Jeff Long says his search for Beaty's replacement begins immediately. He's seeking a coach "who is committed to breaking the cycle" for Kansas football.

Jayhawks snap 38-game October losing streak

Peyton Bender threw two touchdown passes to Pooka Williams, the Kansas defense forced a fumble at its own 6-yard line with 58 seconds left and the Jayhawks held on to beat TCU 27-26 on Saturday to end a four-game losing streak.

Kansas beats TCU 27-26 in Lawrence. The Jayhawks' third win of this season equals their total from the past three years (3-33). KU snaps a 14-game Big 12 losing streak, which was the longest active conference streak nationally. Kansas had also lost 38 straight October games — 30 more than any other team in college football.

Meacham out as Jayhawks' offensive coordinator

Doug Meacham has been fired as Kansas' offensive coordinator, the school announced Wednesday. Head coach David Beaty said he will have final say on playcalls.
