          EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Giants might get one of their top wide receivers back in the lineup against the Seattle Seahawks, but will again be without several key starters.

          Wide receiver Sterling Shepard is officially listed as questionable with an ankle injury. Starting defensive end Olivier Vernon (ankle), center Weston Richburg (concussion), linebackers Jonathan Casillas (neck) and Calvin Munson (quad) and running back Paul Perkins (ribs) have all been ruled out.

          Shepard was a limited participant in practice throughout the week and said he went full speed when he was on the field. Shepard "felt good" earlier this week and has a chance to return after missing last week's game in Denver.

          The second-year receiver is expected to run through a pregame workout to determine whether he can play against the Seahawks.

          The Giants are in need of a boost at wide receiver with Odell Beckham Jr., Brandon Marshall and Dwayne Harris out for the season. Shepard, who is fifth in the NFL with 21 receptions out of the slot, could play more on the outside if he's able to play on Sunday.

          This will be the third straight game Vernon has missed after never missing a game in the previous five seasons. He originally hurt his ankle in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles and returned the following week to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He didn't last long in that contest and has struggled to get healthy since.

          Vernon returned to practice in a limited capacity Wednesday before sitting out Thursday's workout. Coach Ben McAdoo wouldn't say there was a setback.

          "We decided to leave him in for treatment on Thursday," McAdoo said.

          Casillas hasn't practiced at all this week. The Giants' defensive captain also missed Sunday's win in Denver. He was replaced primarily by veteran linebacker Keenan Robinson, who had his best game of the season against the Broncos.

          This will be the third straight game Perkins has missed. Orleans Darkwa and rookie Wayne Gallman have performed well in his absence.

          The Giants had their two best rushing outputs of the season the past two weeks, and Darkwa set a career-high with 117 yards rushing against the Broncos' No. 1-ranked rushing defense.
