Michael Crabtree-Aqib Talib reunion headlines Ravens-Rams joint practices

The Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Rams will hold joint practices before their Aug. 9 preseason game at M&T Bank Stadium.

The headliners will be two players on new teams who have engaged in a heated rivalry. Ravens wide receiver Michael Crabtree and Rams cornerback Aqib Talib have gotten into in-game altercations for the past two years.

It was six months ago when they were ejected in the first quarter of the Oakland Raiders' 21-14 win over the Denver Broncos. Crabtree, who was playing for the Raiders, and Talib, who was with the Broncos, were later suspended one game for throwing punches.

In both instances, Talib ripped off Crabtree's chain. In the last game, Crabtree taped the chain down and Talib still removed it.

This should make for drama for the receiver-cornerback drills at the Ravens' Owings Mills facility.

This offseason, the Ravens signed Crabtree to a three-year, $21 million deal and the Rams acquired Talib for a 2018 fifth-round draft pick.

This marks the first time the Ravens have held joint practices in three years. Baltimore had previously practiced with the San Francisco 49ers in 2014 and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015.
