Western Province have blown away all comers in the Currie Cup this season, with many standout performers during their unbeaten campaign, and they head into the playoffs with a lot of momentum.

Juarno Augustus
The kid they call 'Trokkie' ('Truck') would be a bold choice, but one that could go far in providing a lot of balance to the Springboks' back row.
The Boks have a number of No 8s who play a linking role and are dangerous with ball in hand from broken play, which may not be what they need in European conditions. Augustus, on the other hand, is a big, brutish ball-carrier who likes nothing more than to run over people or hit them hard in a big tackle. He brings that physical element that a Duane Vermeulen gives a Springboks side.
The WP No 8 has had his fair share of injury problems over the past couple of years, but he has enjoyed a full Currie Cup campaign with the defending champions. He is finally back to full match fitness, and his workrate has improved a lot from where it was at the start of the campaign.
Erasmus has made some bold calls this year, and including Augustus would be another. But look how it worked out for Aphiwe Dyantyi. Who knows, Augustus may also take to international rugby like a duck to water.
Sergeal Petersen
Petersen's stocks fell somewhat in his first match for the Springboks, against the Barbarians in 2016, when he struggled to contain 123kg wing Taqele Naiyaravoro. But who is not going to struggle against the former Wallabies tank?
Petersen is not a big wing, or a guy who is going to smash people in the tackle, but he is a good, intelligent defender and good under the high ball. What makes him special, however, is his wonderful ability with ball in hand, which is the primary job for a winger.
Petersen has got a wonderful rugby brain, and the skills to match. He finished this year's Currie Cup campaign as the leading try-scorer, while he also set up multiple others with his vision and his ability to be in the right place at the right time.
Petersen is the sort of playmaker that comes in handy in the wide areas, but he also has that killer instinct and speed to finish off those half chances -- which could be the difference between winning and losing.
The Boks have a number of good wingers at the moment, but Petersen also has a lot to offer the national team.
Ruhan Nel
The former Blitzboks star was included in the Springboks' squad for the Rugby Championship home matches against the Wallabies and the All Blacks, but he didn't make it onto the field. However, it's only a matter of time before the outside centre gets to wear the green and gold after some outstanding displays in the Currie Cup.
The Boks are well covered in terms of personnel at No. 13, even though Lukhanyo Am is out of the picture with an injury. Jesse Kriel now wears that jersey, while Lionel Mapoe hasn't quite had a fair chance this year to have a proper crack.
But Nel has a lot of traits that make him an ideal candidate to tour with the Springboks.
His Sevens skills make a him a dangerous player on both sides of the ball, as he is a lethal finisher and deadly defender, especially in the one-on-one situations.
Nel is also very good on the ground, as his breakdown skills are probably the best in the country for an outside back. If you combine all these attributes, he could become one of the hottest rugby players in the country sooner rather than later.
