With a lot of marquee teams taking breaks from conference play this past weekend in favor of lesser competition, the focus turned to recruiting, where some top junior college and 2014 prospects made commitment news. But even the campuses with high stakes on the line in Week 12 couldn't pass up the opportunity to make an impression on junior talent. Saturday's most exciting matchups -- Oklahoma's one-point win over West Virginia and UCLA's trouncing of Los Angeles rival USC -- both produced commitments from ESPN Watch List prospects, as well as some some interesting developments in the 2013 class.

Top 10 recruiting stories
1. Oklahoma tastes victory on and off the field
Oklahoma earned one big win on the field with a thrilling 50-49 victory at West Virginia. The Sooners also earned a major win on the recruiting trail when 2014 ESPN Watch List running back Devon Thomas (Broken Arrow, Okla./Broken Arrow) confirmed he committed to OU on Saturday night.
Thomas was one of the Sooners' first offers for the Class of 2014.
Thomas said he told OU running backs coach Cale Gundy of his decision Saturday through Twitter. He said Gundy was excited to hear the news.
"Coach Gundy has been wanting me to commit for a while now," Thomas said. "I sat down and talked about it with my family and decided it's time to make it official."
