West Coast feel in Maryland

As usual, Maryland is stocked with talent at all positions, especially on the defensive side. The top six prospects in the state are stoppers. Top-rated Southern California commitment Kenny Bigelow from Eastern Christian in Elkton leads a duo of elite defensive tackles, alongside Michigan commitment Henry Poggi from Gilman School in Baltimore, who is rated the fourth-best prospect in the state. Coming in at No. 2 in the state is cornerback Kendall Fuller from Good Counsel in Olney, Md., who recently committed to Virginia Tech. Then, there's an impressive run of linebackers -- Clemson commitment Dorian O'Daniel from Good Counsel is the third highest-rated prospect in the state, Nebraska commitment Marcus Newby from Quince Orchard in Gaithersburg is rated fifth, and Virginia commitment Micah Kiser from Gilman School is ranked sixth. Southern California commitment Khaliel Rodgers from Eastern Christian, undecided offensive tackle Na'Ty Rodgers from McDonough High School in Owings Mills, and Ohio State commitment Taivon Jacobs from Suitland High School in Forestville round out the top 10. The rest of the class is similarly mixed and competitive among recruiters.

Top undecided prospect

Na'Ty Rodgers, OT (Owings Mills, Md./McDonough)
Since the top eight prospects have selected their schools, one has to travel a bit down the list to find the top uncommitted prospect in Maryland. Rodgers has scholarship offers from several schools, including powerhouses like Clemson, Florida, Oklahoma and Southern California. Plus, Rodgers is suddenly a much higher priority for Florida after it suffered a rash of decommitments. Perhaps the question is how much did the Gators recruiters lay off of Rodgers, as they probably thought they were set on the offensive line. Bruised egos can be tough to overcome. Rodgers hasn't set any visits yet but has spoken most glowingly about Arkansas, Maryland, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Washington.
