When inside linebacker Reuben Foster (Auburn, Ala./Auburn), the nation's No. 2 player, transferred to Auburn High School in April, the state of Alabama became one of just three states with multiple players ranked in the top 10 (along with Florida and Georgia). Foster and fellow Auburn commit defensive tackle Dee Liner (Muscle Shoals, Ala./Muscle Shoals) provide a 1-2 combination that could rival any state in the country.
Behind those two, the depth in the Yellowhammer State may be lacking this year, but one player who continues to turn heads is Autauga Academy tight end O.J. Howard, an Alabama commitment. At 6-foot-6, Howard is a huge target who has dominated the camp circuit this summer.
The deepest position in the state for 2013 may be wide receiver. The class consists of three ESPN 300 receivers, DeAndre Woods (Pinson, Ala./Clay-Chalkville), Earnest Robinson (Pinson, Ala./Pinson Valley) and Deon Johnson (Spanish Fort, Ala./Spanish Fort), all committed to SEC schools. There's a number of athletes, including Crimson Tide commitment ArDarius Stewart (Birmingham, Ala./Fultondale), who could end up on the offensive side of the ball, as well.
