Players to watch at Oakland Elite 11

A look at some players to watch at Friday's Oakland Elite 11 regional camp.

QB Cooper Bateman (Salt Lake City/Cottonwood)
Bateman earned his invite to the Elite 11 finals, set for late July in Redondo Beach, Calif., with a solid showing at the Dallas regional event. He committed to Alabama on Wednesday over offers from Auburn, Florida, LSU, Arkansas and others. The nation's No. 6-rated pocket passer and the top player in Utah, Bateman -- 6-foot-3 and 175 pounds -- throws an excellent deep ball, shows good accuracy, poise and intelligence.

QB Max Browne (Sammamish, Wash./Skyline)
His elite size (6-5, 205 pounds) and arm strength made Browne one of the most coveted quarterbacks in the 2013 class. He committed to USC in early April after a three-day unofficial visit in which he spent time with Trojans star Matt Barkley learning all about the high expectations for a QB in Lane Kiffin's program. Browne sees the field exceptionally well and can make every throw, as evidenced by his 4,034 yards and 45 touchdowns on 70 percent passing as a junior.
