What does Urban Meyer's return mean for Ohio State?

Dwayne Haskins took a knee at 10:47 p.m. local time, and the final seconds of Ohio State's 40-28 win over TCU ran out at AT&T Stadium.

The clock also expired on coach Urban Meyer's suspension. You can take off those #FreeUrban shirts, Ohio State fans. He's back.

When the Buckeyes take the field Saturday against Tulane, they'll be led by a man who has won three national championships, six conference championships and 73 of 81 games at Ohio State, including 47 of 50 Big Ten games. But the same man has seen his reputation take a serious hit after his mishandling of domestic violence allegations against former assistant coach Zach Smith.

Ohio State went 3-0 without Meyer. Acting head coach Ryan Day, a seasoned staff and a talented roster kept all the team's goals within sight. Day said he felt relieved after completing his term with a come-from-behind win over a good TCU team.

"We're just so excited to get [Meyer] back," Day said.

What can Ohio State expect with Meyer back at the helm? In most situations, a coach of his caliber brings an obvious boost. But this isn't most situations.

I spoke with Buckeyes players and coaches this past weekend in Texas, as well as former Meyer assistants and other coaches who have experienced situations in which the head coach is removed from a team temporarily. They discussed what it would be like with Meyer back, and what steps Meyer must take from here.
