Here’s a look at where things stand in the SEC at the halfway mark of the regular season.

1. Alabama (6-0): Maybe it wasn’t the top-to-bottom domination we’ve become accustomed to from Alabama. But so what? The Tide still went on the road into a hostile environment in College Station and beat Texas A&M 27-19.

2. Georgia (6-0): There’s no let-up in this Georgia team. After proving something in back to back weeks against Mississippi State and Tennessee, the Bulldogs took it to lowly Vanderbilt and handily beat the Commodores 45-14.

3. Auburn (5-1): Maybe that loss at Clemson wasn’t so bad after all. Clemson is a solid, top-four program, and Auburn has found something offensively, thanks to the touchdown machine known as Kerryon Johnson.

4. Texas A&M (4-2): The Aggies lost but gave Alabama its stiffest test yet. The Aggies have the defense to keep them in every game moving forward, and if quarterback Kellen Mond can continue developing, they should be a factor in the SEC West.

5. LSU (4-2): The Tigers squeaked out a 17-16 road win at Florida in a game they absolutely had to have. This team hasn't solved all its issues, but LSU showed some progress offensively and has some positivity to build on in the short term.

6. Florida (3-2): The team that kept finding ways to win ran out of them at home on Saturday against LSU, this time squandering a good defensive effort by failing to move the ball with any consistency offensively and botching an extra-point attempt from the usually reliable Eddy Pineiro.

7. Kentucky (5-1): The Wildcats didn't beat Missouri in convincing fashion, but they showed some marked improvement offensively, rolling up 486 yards in a 40-34 victory. At 5-1 and 2-1 in league play, Kentucky is in good position in the SEC East.

8. South Carolina (4-2): The Gamecocks scored a convincing 48-22 win over Arkansas, one that was much-needed by Will Muschamp's squad. Three defensive touchdowns were helpful, and the offense was productive.

9. Mississippi State (3-2): A bye week gave the Bulldogs time to figure out what went wrong the past two games in blowout losses to Georgia and Auburn.

10. Vanderbilt (3-3): It has been three weeks since "Alabama, you're next," and the Commodores haven't won a game. They dropped their third straight contest Saturday to Georgia and are winless in SEC play.

11. Arkansas (2-3): The hand-wringing over Bret Bielema won't subside at all after the Razorbacks' most recent performance, a blowout loss to South Carolina. The Razorbacks look aimless, and things aren't going to get easier with No. 1 Alabama up next.

12. Tennessee (3-2): A bye week offered the perfect time to regroup after an embarrassing loss to Georgia at home.

13. Ole Miss (2-3): The hits keep coming for an Ole Miss defense that gave up a combined 110 points in losses to Alabama and Auburn the past two weeks.

14. Missouri (1-4): The Tigers are still looking for their first SEC win, but they were much more competitive than they had been, taking Kentucky down to the wire in a six-point loss. Although it wasn't a win, Barry Odom's team at least showed some fight.
