San Antonio Spurs guard Danny Green has exercised the $10 million player option on his contract and will return to the team next season, league sources told ESPN.
Green's decision to stay out of the free agency reflects the tight financial marketplace that would have limited his ability to earn beyond the $8.6 million mid-level exception.
Green, 31, averaged 8.6 points for the Spurs last season. He has played eight of his nine NBA seasons with the Spurs.
