Greg Oden, the No. 1 overall pick in 2007, returned to the headlines earlier this month when he told ESPN's Outside the Lines, "I'll be remembered as the biggest bust in NBA history."
Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant, the player taken the pick after Oden, later stood up for him.
"Nonsense. That's nonsense," Durant said to ESPN.com. "In order for you to be a bust, you have to actually play and show people that you progressed as a player. He didn't get a chance to."
