Tyler Cook, No. 51 in ESPN 100, chooses Iowa over Florida

ESPN 100 prospect Tyler Cook has committed to Iowa.

Cook, a 6-foot-7 power forward from Chaminade College Prep (Mo.), chose the Hawkeyes over finalist Florida. Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa State, Virginia and others had all been involved over the past several months as well.

Cook took his official visit to Iowa last weekend, and that was enough to convince him. He canceled his scheduled trip to Arkansas and made a decision.

"Just felt comfortable with them," Cook told ESPN.com. "I've known them for over two years, felt like home on my visit."

Ranked No. 51 in the ESPN 100, Cook is a physical inside force who plays bigger than his listed height. He can score at the rim and gets consistent position on the low block. Cook averaged 10.2 points and 5.6 rebounds on the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League circuit last spring and summer, shooting 60.9 percent from the field. He played alongside No. 2 recruit Jayson Tatum, who committed to Duke in July.

Cook is the third commitment for Fran McCaffery's 2016 recruiting class, joining four-star point guard Jordan Bohannon and three-star forward Cordell Pemsl.
