After Mississippi State's win, Dan Mullen's remarks on QB Nick Fitzgerald are priceless

Nick Fitzgerald, quarterback for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, was terrific on Saturday against rival Ole Miss. Behind Fitzgerald's leadership, the Bulldogs took back the Golden Egg trophy 55-20 on the road in Oxford despite being nine-point underdogs. They had lost to the Rebels the past two seasons.

Fitzgerald ran for 258 yards, a school record, scoring two touchdowns. He also threw for three touchdowns. Needless to say, coach Dan Mullen had plenty to smile about.

During Mullen's postgame interview, he was asked which school he had to fight with the most to sign Fitzgerald during the recruiting process. His response?

Mullen was so giddy that he couldn't even wait for the press conference to end before getting out the victory cigar. He noted that the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga was his biggest competition, calling it "an excellent football team," all the while grinning with the cigar lopsidedly balanced between his teeth.

The Bulldogs end their season 5-7, 3-5 in Southeastern Conference play.
