Oregon has officially announced Mario Cristobal will take over as head coach on a permanent basis. "I'm excited and honored to be the head football coach of the Oregon Ducks," Cristobal said in a statement. "The rich tradition combined with the incredible wave of momentum that has been created throughout the season and the recruiting process is something we believe will be unstoppable, and this will lead us to fulfill the great expectations of our great university and our fan base."

Oregon is working on a deal to promote co-offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Mario Cristobal to head coach, sources told ESPN Friday. Cristobal would replace Willie Taggart, who left for Florida State after only one season. The news was first reported by NBC Sports Northwest.
