Carl Frampton has announced Jamie Moore as his new trainer, replacing Shane McGuigan.

The former two-weight world champion confirmed he would be linking up with Moore on his twitter account, hailing the appointment as "the start of a new chapter" in his career.

A former British, Commonwealth and European champion, Moore has previously worked with the likes of Matthew Macklin and Tommy Coyle.

The move comes after Frampton ended his long-term partnership with Barry McGuigan and Cyclone Promotions last month.

The 30-year-old has not fought since losing his WBA world featherweight title to Mexican fighter Leo Santa Cruz in January and, despite interest from Lee Selby, he is yet to announce his next opponent.

The Northern Irishman was due to fight Andres Gutierrez in Belfast on July 29, only for the bout to be called off a day before due to Gutierrez suffering a freak accident by falling in the shower.

Attempts to arrange a new date for the fight failed and it was officially cancelled just days before Frampton's split from Cyclone was confirmed.
