FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- A couple of hours after the New England Patriots beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Championship Game, defensive coordinator Matt Patricia was rolling in the confetti with his son. One day later, Patricia explained what he was doing.

"He hasn't really been to a lot of games. He's been to two. So that was kind of his second game and he wanted to go play in the field. So we played a good game of touch football," Patricia relayed. "He beat me 4-0 so he kind of outran me there a little bit and made some good plays on me. I couldn't catch him."

Patricia, who is expected to be named coach of the Detroit Lions, has two sons and a daughter. His wife, Raina, was also on the field after the game.

"Just fun to have him out there running around and just seeing the excitement that he had to be out on the field, that's always just kind of a special little moment for myself and him and my wife," Patricia said.

As for a potential rematch two weeks from now in Minnesota, Patricia played along.

"He's pretty good. He's pretty quick. I might have to try to get in better shape before that happens. We'll see," he said. "I might have to take the physical game to him."
