Vikings announce start date, new ticket policy for 2018 training camp

EAGAN, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings are three months away from hosting their inaugural training camp at their new team headquarters in Eagan.

The full training camp schedule as well as logistics will be released in June, but the preseason practices are expected to be open to the public through the second preseason game, which will take place between Aug. 16-19.

Rookies will report on Tuesday, July 24, with their first practice scheduled for July 25. Veteran players are slated to report on July 27 with the first full team practice taking place on Saturday, July 28.

New this year, the Vikings will set a daily attendance capacity for training camp, which is expected to be approximately 5,000. Capacity may increase for any night practices the Vikings host in Eagan, including the nighttime scrimmage the team has hosted in previous years.

General admission tickets will continue to be available free of charge, but must be reserved in advance on Vikings.com. Minnesota plans to offer season-ticket holders the first opportunity to reserve tickets before they become available to the general public. The Vikings are also exploring the idea of offering limited reserved seating or upgraded experiences that will include a cost.

The Vikings are still determining a plan for parking or shuttles to Twin Cities Orthopedics Stadium, which will include a fee.

Training camp will include a daily offering of autograph sessions by position group, food and beverage options and other activities on site.
