FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Atlanta Falcons coach Dan Quinn dismissed speculation about offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian possibly leaving to take the same position with the Seattle Seahawks.

A CBS Sports report cited word around the coaching circles that Sarkisian is expected to rejoin Pete Carroll as the Seahawks' offensive coordinator. Seattle parted ways with offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell after seven seasons.

Sarkisian is in his first season with the Falcons. Based on Quinn's words, Sarkisian isn't going anywhere.

"Zero chance of that," Quinn told the media Wednesday. "I recognize you asking but for us, no basis to any of this."

Sarkisian worked two stints under Carroll at USC.

"I can honestly say if there's one person that I can say that I wouldn't be where I'm at today without that person, that would be Pete Carroll," Sarkisian said back in November. "What he's done for my career, the mentorship that he's provided me as a young coach, as a young position coach, as a young coordinator, as a young head coach, he's just been that person for me in our profession. And fortunate to be associated with him."

Carroll implied in November that Sarkisian has an open invitation to join his staff in the future.

It's unclear how long of a contract Sarkisian signed with the Falcons but it most likely was more than a one-year deal. He's focused now on guiding the offense into Saturday's divisional playoff matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.
