Prince Eze of the Perpetual Help Altas is set to receive the NCAA Season 94 Most Valuable Player award.
The 6-foot-10 reinforcement was the runaway winner for the highest individual plum after he tallied 61.3 PAV (player all-around value). He posted averages of 17.9 points of 49.8 percent shooting, 16.3 rebounds, and 3.3 blocks, leading the Altas to an 11-7 record and a Final Four finish. It was a sensational turnaround for the Frankie Lim-mentored squad after winning only four games last season. The Nigerian center will also take home the Defensive Player award after collecting a total of 297 rebounds and 59 blocks.
Letran's Bong Quinto ended up in second place with 48.83 PAVs followed by San Beda's Robert Bolick at 48.39 and Javee Mocon at 47.89. Another Red Lion rounded up the Mythical Team as Donald Tankoua came in the place of CJ Perez. Perez, who averaged 18.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 3.3 steals, was disqualified from the Mythical selection after garnering a one-game suspension. Last year's MVP Perez was on pace for another stellar season but his failure to notify the league of his PBA Draft intentions cost him to miss an individual selection and Game 1 of the finals.
Larry Muyang of the Knights meanwhile bested St. Benilde's Justin Gutang for the Rookie of the Year award. The ever-reliable young big man of Letran put up 12.5 points on an efficient 63 percent shooting clip to go along with nine rebounds.
In the Juniors Division, Joel Cagulangan of the CSB-LSGH Junior Blazers will earn the MVP award. Arellano's Aaron Fermin was the statistical leader but the Braves failed to enter the Final Four.
