UP prepares for next UAAP season with training in Serbia

The UP Fighting Maroons are heading to Serbia later this month as part of their preparation for the upcoming 81st season of the UAAP.

"This training camp should push us to be in the height of our condition," UP coach Bo Perasol said. "After this, we have at least a month to sustain it."

The Maroons have certainly been busy this past summer, joining in several offseason tournaments, including the 12th Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup presented by Chooks-to-Go where they reached the quarterfinals.

Boasting new recruits, most notably big man Bright Akhuetie from the NCAA, the Fighting Maroons are hoping to make an immediate impact once their season begins.

"We hope to benefit from the tune up games against Serbian and Croatian professional teams as well," Perasol shared on their overseas trip.

This past offseason also saw the recruiting arm of UP at work with the acquisition of highly-touted Ricci Rivero as well as center Jboy Gob.

The UP Fighting Maroons will be in Serbia for training from July 1 to August 4.
