The 2017 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros got underway Tuesday night.
Behind an 11-strikeout performance from Clayton Kershaw, the Dodgers won Game 1 in front of their home crowd to take a 1-0 series lead.
Fans were quick to show their support for the team via social media, including an abundance of celebrities.

Justin Turner, who hit a two-run home run off Dallas Keuchel to give the Dodgers a lead in the bottom of the sixth, took time after the victory to thank the fans for their energy:

The social world went into a frenzy following the final out, as the contest lasted just 2 hours, 28 minutes, which made it the shortest World Series game since 1992.
The Dodgers and Astros will be back at it for Game 2 at 8:09 p.m. ET Wednesday.
