Quade Cooper has taken a swipe at Queensland Reds coach Brad Thorn with a targeted Instagram post as he prepares to announce his signing at Melbourne Rebels.

Posting an image of himself from the Wallabies-All Blacks 2011 Rugby World Cup semifinal in which he's seen palming off Thorn, Cooper captioned the photo: "Sometimes you are forced out of the place you love but thank god there's more than one place that loves me."

It's been reported since September the former Reds fly-half has signed with the Rebels for the 2019 season with an announcement set to come as early as this week.

Cooper has previously turned down an offer from the Rebels, instead choosing to spend the 2018 season playing Queensland club rugby and impressed in the NRC competition, but with Thorn unlikely to change his mind on the playmaker, Cooper is likely to take up a contract at the club.
