Tom Cruse has given Wasps a boost ahead of Saturday's clash with Newcastle after the hooker penned a new contract with the Aviva Premiership outfit.

The former Sale and London Irish front-rower, who arrived at the Ricoh Arena before the start of the 2016-17 season, and has featured in seven of the club's 11 fixtures so far this term.

"When I was offered the option to extend my contract here at Wasps, it was an easy decision to make," Cruse told the club's official website. "My family and I have settled in really well since arriving a couple of seasons ago and we have been welcomed brilliantly by everyone at the club.

"I'm loving playing alongside the quality players we have in our squad and feel my game is developing well here at Wasps," the 28-year-old added.

"It's exciting to see the potential of the squad and we are all working hard to improve to try to fulfil that potential."

Cruse is the latest member of Dai Young's squad to extend his stay with Wasps after fellow hooker Ashley Johnson penned a new deal Monday.
