Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt faced fresh injury concerns over Jonathan Sexton and Sean O'Brien who were both withdrawn in Leinster's defeat to Montpellier in the Champions Cup on Sunday.

Sexton, who has been nursing a tight hamstring, and Sean O'Brien both started but both were taken off at half-time as Leinster were losing in France. Isa Nacewa took over the kicking duties while Sexton was on the field and with O'Brien playing his first game since January, Leinster head coach Leo Cullen stated that it was more precautionary to call both ashore.

"Johnny and Seanie, the two of them are coming back in. We're making assessments all week on those guys...on what's suitable and not putting guys at unnecessary risk, with both players set to feature during Ireland's busy four-Test autumn schedule. The two of them came through and they were p***** off coming off at half-time. We're just managing them and being ultra cautious so hopefully they come through fine."
