2016 Basketball Hall of Fame coverage

The star-studded 10-member class of 2016 -- including Shaquille O'Neal, Yao Ming and Allen Iverson -- was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Sept. 9 in Springfield, Mass.

Cumberland Posey

  • Led the Loendi Big Five to four straight Colored Basketball World Championships from 1919 to 1922

John McLendon

  • Elected as coach

  • Guided Tennessee State to three consecutive NAIA titles from 1957 to 1959

  • First African-American coach to win a national championship

  • Enshrined in Basketball Hall of Fame as contributor in 1979
