The Cavs were disastrous in the third quarter, seeing their 17-point lead cut down to just six and scoring 12 points total as a team. But they have this going for them: They are 40-0, including the regular season and Game 2, this season when holding a lead heading into the fourth.

JR Smith gave the Cavs some quality minutes but picks up his fifth foul with 3:11 to go in the third quarter. It will be tough to match his two-way toughness with anybody else on the roster.

Cavs coach Tyronn Lue said before Game 3 that the one player who has been out of his rotation that he could end up going to this series is Tristan Thompson. He knows what he will get out of him and based out of the last three Finals runs, he knows that Thompson can handle the playoff stage. Lue said he's spoken to Thompson about eventually getting his chance. "He's ready," Lue said.
