If you're flying through Dallas Fort Worth International Airport at some point in 2023, you will be able to stop by "Nowitzki" in Terminal C.
A bar and restaurant concept honoring Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki was approved by the airport's board, DFW announced Thursday. The project, designed by D&B Mitchell Group, is scheduled to open next year. Nowitzki, who led the Mavs to their only NBA title, appears to be involved in creating the menu.
"My goal was to have a menu that reflected not only what I love to eat but also how I love to eat," Nowitzki, who played his entire 21-year career with the Mavs, said on the company's website. "Whether it's in training, with my family, or traveling the globe, I wanted my menu to reflect who I am so you can get to know me through this restaurant."

Nowitzki, who is from Wurzburg, Germany, even broke down his favorite items on the menu. He described the chicken tikka masala as "complex and alluring."
Of the Thai spicy beef, he said, "I love spicy foods -- nothing better than the excitement of Thai spices dancing on lean sliced beef."
The menu also features classics from Nowitzki's home country, including chicken schnitzel, bratwurst and hamburgers, which he notes were invented in Germany.
Nowitzki is just the latest athlete with an eponymous airport restaurant. Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Drew Pearson has a sports bar in DFW. Texas Longhorns Heisman winner Earl Campbell has a place in Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Former Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway has one in Denver International Airport.
