Lance Stephenson agrees to deal with Indiana Pacers for rest of season

Indiana Pacers guard Lance Stephenson has agreed to a deal for the rest of the season, his agents Mark Bartelstein and Reggie Brown of Priority Sports told ESPN on Wednesday night.

Stephenson transformed himself into one of the season's better comeback stories, turning a 10-day COVID-19 exception into three more successive 10-day deals and a return to the rotation for a franchise where he's remained a largely popular figure.

Stephenson, 31, has averaged 7.4 points, 3.6 assists and 2.8 rebounds for the Pacers in 17 games this season. He was a second-round pick of the franchise in 2010 and played four seasons before returning in 2016-17 and 2017-18.

Stephenson's NBA career was derailed in 2019 to China and the G League for two years until he returned amid the league's COVID-19 outbreak with Atlanta and Indiana this season.
