Giants 3B Eduardo Nunez on NLDS roster against Cubs

CHICAGO -- San Francisco Giants third baseman Eduardo Nunez, who had been sidelined with a strained right hamstring, is on the roster for the National League Division Series against the Chicago Cubs.

Game 1 is Friday night at Wrigley Field.

Nunez, an American League All-Star this season with Minnesota who was acquired by the Giants prior to the trade deadline, hasn't played since Sept. 25.

Conor Gillaspie replaced him for the wild-card game Wednesday night and hit a three-run home run in the ninth inning of San Francisco's 3-0 victory against the New York Mets.

Right-hander Jason Hammel was left off the Cubs' roster after he had a career-best 15 wins this year. Hammel was hampered by right elbow tightness at the end of the year.

The Cubs went with 11 pitchers and 14 position players. Rookie outfielder Albert Almora Jr. made the cut, while veteran Matt Szczur was left off the list despite a team-high 12 pinch hits.
