It was the same old story in Perth as India lost 1-3 to Australia despite taking the lead, thus trailing 0-4 in the test series with a game left to play.

Harmanpreet Singh opened the scoring for India in the first quarter with a bullet of a penalty corner strike in the 12th minute, but Craig Fulton's side only managed a seven-minute spell in front. Jeremy Hayward needed no invitation to show his PC prowess and equalised in the 19th minute.

Suraj Karkera had a fine outing in goal for India, making some superb saves, while Araijeet Singh Hundal had some good moments going forward. However, it was all for nought, as despite India keeping their shape well, a succession of penalty corners conceded in the final quarter saw Hayward grab his brace (47') while Jack Welch (54') made it 3-1, sealing the win for Australia.
