Misfits opened Week 7, Day 2 of the European League of Legends Championship Series with a dominant 2-0 sweep of the Mysterious Monkeys on Friday in Berlin.

Misfits (5-3, 11-9 match record) drafted a team composition with enough utility to keep pace in the early game, which led to a pair of kills before 10 minutes had passed. While Misfits got a bit rambunctious and overextended in the bottom lane to give up a couple kills 13 minutes in, that was just about the only poor engagement from this squad.

Misfits easily rebounded from that mishap with a big 3-for-1 teamfight win that kept it firmly in the driver's seat. As the game progressed, Misfits absolutely shredded Monkeys in every teamfight, with Steven "Hans Sama" Liv's Kalista putting in major work with an 8/1/9 KDA (kills/deaths/assists). His mid laner, Tristan "PowerOfEvil" Schrage, was no slouch on Syndra, either, finishing with a 9/3/6 KDA.

Those two alone seemed like too much for Monkeys to deal with, and Misfits eventually cleaned things up in the 31-minute win.

Mysterious Monkeys (2-7, 4-15 match record) needed to make some big adjustments to stop Misfits after being trounced in Game 1, but perhaps the best way to do that wasn't to give up Zac to Misfits jungler Nubar "Maxlore" Sarafian. The pick, combined with PowerOfEvil's Orianna, was more than enough for Misfits to have a repeat performance.

The teams traded kills and were dead-even through 15 minutes, but once Misfits found two kills at the 16-minute mark, it was off to the races. Those kills seemingly opened the floodgates, as Misfits kept on pushing and slicing through the Monkeys over and over. PowerOfEvil was once again on fire with a 9/1/15 KDA, which was good for a whopping 92 percent kill participation.

Mysterious Monkeys found a couple more kills here and there, but it was just nowhere near enough to stop the onslaught from Misfits in the 31-minute Misfits win.

Misfits will be back in action at 11 a.m. ET on Sunday to face Splyce, while the Mysterious Monkeys will take on Team Vitality at 11 a.m. ET Thursday.
