Customs hoping to make home advantage count

Nigeria Customs play host to Delta Force at the Indoor Sports Hall, National Stadium, Lagos in the Kwesé Premier Basketball League on Saturday.

The two sides lost on Thursday in their respective games and will be eager to return to winning ways, but just one side can achieve victory on the day.

Nigeria Customs, fourth on the Atlantic Conference table, have blown hot-and-cold this season; this might not be unconnected with the high number of veterans and averagely-talented players that appear to dominate the team.

Their disappointing loss on Thursday appeared to summarise their season to date, losing 96-91 against Rivers Hoopers despite winning the opening three quarters.

Delta Force play a second successive game on the road as they look to improving an unadmirable seventh place. The Asaba-based team dragged themselves back into the contest in the third quarter against Police Baton on Thursday, narrowly losing 76-72.

Forwards Seyi Ayodele and Seun Akinwale have consistently bailed out the border boys this season with some sharp shooting skills, but both veterans might face a stern challenge from a younger, mobile, and relatively inexperienced Delta Force team.

In other Atlantic Conference fixtures, second-placed Kwara Falcons host bottom-placed NAF Rockets while fifth-placed Oluyole Warriors, who are enjoying a rebirth of sorts, welcome third-placed Hoops and Reads.

The day's last game is in Lagos, between sixth-placed Police Baton and table-topping Rivers Hoopers.
