16.3 High, very high, Nielsen runs towards fine leg and takes it. Brown walks back, his dad finally moves out of his seat. He's smiling while going in towards the dugout, where everyone receives him warmly. Was around a length, Brown tried heaving it across over the big leg-side boundary. Gave it all but got a top edge. 192/3
1.1 There's the swing and the lbw! Bowled from close to the stumps, fullish ball swung late, pitched around middle and came back in to beat the flick and hit the front pad. Was it swinging too far? The batters didn't go for the review after a chat, so they thought it was hitting. First-ball strike for Payne. What does Hawk-Eye say? It's pitching in line and clipping leg stump, would've been umpire's call. 8/1
11.1 Thornton's return pays off first ball, McSweeney's given lbw. He reviews. Angle could be the issue but looked close. Length ball landing around fourth stump decked to and beat the straightish bat on the inside edge. McSweeney was stuck on the crease as he tried to punch it to mid-on. Hit just over the knee-roll. Hawk-Eye shows it's just brushing leg stump. That's all Strikers needed. Tad unlucky but the skipper has to walk back. 127/2
17.3 Slog swept to deep midwicket. Fullish at the stumps, given a lot of air, Renshaw was on one knee and got it flat towards the fielder 202/4
18.1 Skied, taken at midwicket. Very slow on a length at the stumps, Bryant tried to leather it across with a slog sweep but top edged it. Short didn't have to much much but had to wait a while. Good catch. Heat have lost 4 for 12 in the last 17 balls. 204/6
17.5 Down the track, misses and gets stumped. Pope might've seen him as he pulled his length back, still just 83ks, Walter tried to mow it over long-on. Ball fizzed away past him and over the stumps. Quick work from the keeper 202/5
18.6 Heat's collapse now slumps to 5 for 15. Shortish ball on middle, didn't rise much so Peirson crouched low to try and bash it up and over. In the end, he pulled it straight to midwicket. Pace was just 75ks. The spinners going slow paying dividends. 207/7

3.3 Tall Paul clings onto a juggler, Short can't carry his form into the finals tonight either! Wakim's misfield works out for Heat. Was a shortish ball at the body, 148ks, cramped him for room but he went through with the shot. Bottom hand came off upon impact. Ball was sailing slowly and the fielder ran back from the ring. He reached and tried to take it calmly but fumbled. He was clasping but the ball was close to him and didn't slip far despite being soapy. Did well to hang on to a crucial catch. 27/1
3.5 Steered to the keeper, Johnson has both Shorts in his first over! Length on fourth, 143ks, Short was in the crease and tried to dab it to third but could only feather it. Johnson is pumped. Is that the game? 28/2
8.1 Johnson goes into the pitch strikes right away on return! Mid-140 kph, just a bit of room, Weatherald charged and tried to belt it with the cross-bat. Top edge went right up, keeper ran towards the stumps and flung low to take it. Jake didn't bother waiting, Johnson shows the way back 62/3
11.4 Change of angle works for Walter, Kelly falls for a promising 41. The length was similar to the last ball despite the boundary but the over-the-wicket angle meant he was cramped and the ball slung off the pull shot low to the fielder 86/4
19.4 Juggled but taken. Wakim tried to take it fingers up above his face, fumbled and the ball tipped his cap and was falling down. He swivelled and was falling, took it just above ground. Was a slow wide ball that Nelsen tried slap over cover 160/9
15.3 Dances down, Kuhnemann sees him and goes slow, wide and short. 77ks. It's outside the swinging arc again and spins away further. Manneti heaves and misses. Easy stumping for Peirson. 114/5
16.5 Direct hit from point and that looks out. Bazley walks as it's sent upstairs. Was a fullish ball for which he was outside off, he missed the flick and the ball deflected to Wakim. There was a minor mix-up but they went through. Bazley was a tad casual in his last hop and the ball pinged off the stumps. Sloppy but it won't make much of a difference, just gives Heat another reason to cheer about. Confidence booster for the debutant though 129/6
17.5 Spooned to wide mid-off. Pitched up, Thornton tried to lift it from off stump while standing still. Toed it to the left of Walter, who scuttled from mid-off and took it. 141/7
19.1 And strikes first ball. Length around ff, Payne got low and top edged a slog sweep. Went proper high but didn't go that far. Lot of time for McSweeney to settle underneath and take it 157/8

19.5 McSweeney finishes it off, Brisbane Heat win by 54 runs and will take on Sydney Sixers at the SCG. Was a length ball outside off, Pope swung across like Nielsen, skied it towards cover. The skipper took a few steps across and took a dolly. Celebrations follow 160/10
