VIERA, Fla. -- After a disappointing end to a disappointing 2015 season, spring training for the Washington Nationals is finally underway. If you’re looking for a way to kill time until Opening Day, you could do worse than watching the boys of summer spring into action while absorbing all that the Sunshine State has to offer.

What: Nationals 2016 spring training

Where: Space Coast Stadium in Viera, FLorida

When: Now through March 30

Workouts: Daily at approximately 10 a.m. each day. Pitchers and catchers started on Saturday, Feb. 20. Position players report on Tuesday, Feb. 23, and full-squad workouts begin on Thursday. Daily drills are open to the public and easily accessible, including bullpen sessions. Workouts are typically over by around noon or 1 p.m.

Games: Grapefruit League action starts on Wednesday, March 2 -- when the Nationals take on the Tampa Bay Rays in Port Charlotte, FLa. -- and lasts through March 30. The Nats will play 29 games, including one day of split-squad games on March 29. After they close up shop in Florida, Dusty Baker’s squad heads north to play two exhibition games on April 1 and 2 against the Minnesota Twins at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. On April 4, the Nats kick off the regular season in Atlanta, where they’ll face the division-rival Braves.
