New York Giants' Odell Beckham Jr. selected to Pro Bowl

SELECTIONS

Odell Beckham Jr., WR, 2nd Pro Bowl selection: This guy just can't stay out of the news! As Beckham awaits his Wednesday appeal of the one-game suspension he earned for his on-field actions in Sunday's loss to Carolina, he celebrates a well-deserved Pro Bowl selection. The leader in fan voting at wide receiver (and seventh overall in fan voting), Beckham has followed up his dazzling rookie season with more razzle-dazzle. He is third in the NFL in receiving yards with 1,396, third with 531 yards after the catch, eighth in catches with 91, and tied with Seattle's Doug Baldwin and Jacksonville's Allen Robinson for the league lead with 13 touchdown catches.

Beckham was not actually selected to the Pro Bowl last year as a rookie, after catching 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in only 12 games. But he was an alternate and did end up playing in the game. This season, his case was a total no-brainer, and remains so in spite of Sunday's ugliness.

Also of note: Giants kicker Josh Brown and return specialist Dwayne Harris were named first alternates, which means they have a decent chance to end up in Hawaii. Brown has connected on 26 of 28 field goal attempts this season, including 10-of-12 from 40 yards or longer and 3-of-3 from 50 yards or longer. Harris is fourth in the league in kick return average at 28.7 yards and seventh in punt return average at 10.3 yards, and he has returned one of each for a touchdown.
