Packers' top undrafted rookies got $17,595,972 less than Carson Wentz to sign

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Last year, the Green Bay Packers gave LaDarius Gunter one of the top signing bonuses among their undrafted free agents.

The cornerback went to make the team.

That could be a good sign for five players from this year’s undrafted rookie class who received the same $5,000 bonus that Gunter did last year.

Two of the three players who a long-time NFL scout identified as his top Packers rookie free agents were among that $5,000 group.

By comparison, one of the last players selected in the draft received a signing bonus of more than $60,000, while No. 2 overall pick Carson Wentz took home a $17,600,972 signing bonus when he signed with the Eagles (No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff has not yet signed his deal with the Rams).

Here’s a list of the signing bonuses paid out to the Packers’ undrafted rookies.
