Mark Dominik breaks down how Myles Garrett's combine performance is solidifying his place atop the draft class. (1:23)

Myles Garrett did his part.

Now it's up to the Cleveland Browns.

Garrett's NFL combine experience validated all the pre-combine analysis that he deserves to be the draft's first pick.

First, Garrett apologized and made fun of himself for the joking video he made asking the Cowboys to trade up to draft him. Then he had folks murmuring with his workouts.

He ran a blistering 40-yard dash, running a 4.64-second 40 at 272 pounds. He bench-pressed 33 reps, second at the combine. He had a 41-inch vertical jump and had a 10-foot-8 broad jump.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported late in the 2016 season that the Browns have an "astronomical" grade on Garrett.

At the combine -- and keep in mind the combine is simply a lengthy workout and interview -- he justified the astronomical assessment.

As for the video he made, which he and the ESPN producer both said was done in a joking matter, Garrett said he'd have two words for the Browns: "I'm sorry."

He clearly wished he hadn't done it, but the Browns also clearly shrugged it off.

"Obviously it's been well documented and explained," vice president of football operations Sashi Brown said. "Some of the representatives of the players called to explain some of the comments, and I explained to those guys at the time that we don't take it too serious."

"I think at the time it was more having a little fun about it," coach Hue Jackson said. "If it was something I thought was really serious, then I would be concerned."

Garrett has his critics. Most point out that 4.5 of his 8.5 sacks came against Texas-San Antonio.

But Garrett has been compared to Julius Peppers and Von Miller, though he was quick to admit he's not Miller yet. If he's close to either or both, he'll be a standout NFL player.

Garrett said in Indianapolis that his goal was to dominate at the combine and "not make any more crazy videos." Goal 1 was achieved.

There's no reason to think he will make another crazy video, but whether he does or doesn't really doesn't matter.

Garrett seems earmarked for Cleveland as the first overall pick in the draft.
